Tanja van Peer is the Acting General Manager, Forensic Science at PHF Science, where she leads a national team delivering forensic services that support the justice, health, regulatory, and government sectors. With more than 20 years' experience in forensic science and operational leadership, Tanja has held senior roles spanning forensic operations, business development, strategic partnerships, emergency response, and organisational leadership. She has extensive experience working alongside New Zealand Police and other justice sector agencies and has played key leadership and advisory roles in major incident and disaster victim identification responses across New Zealand. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Tanja is focused on strengthening forensic capability, workforce sustainability, innovation, and strategic partnerships to maximise the impact of science for New Zealand. She holds an MBA and is passionate about developing future leaders and delivering scientific excellence that contributes to safer communities.
